We had a couple of weeks last autumn where Consett area roads were being ‘stalked’ by multi horse traffic incidents.

More than 270 incidents of horses being injured on South East roads were recorded last year, according to the British Horse Society.

The charity is urging drivers to pass horses at no more than 10mph and to leave at least two metres distance.
